Eric was born and raised on a dairy farm in Quinn, South Dakota. He earned a Bachelors of Business Administration, summa cum laude, from the University of South Dakota in 2006 and a Juris Doctor from the University of South Dakota in 2009.
After graduating from law school, Eric served in Governor Daugaard’s Office where he provided legal and policy advice and lobbied the South Dakota legislature on behalf of the Governor’s priorities. Among other duties, his work included leading the state’s response to federal health care reform and assisting with the development of policy related to human resources, veteran’s affairs, tribal relations, and administrative law.
Immediately prior to joining Cutler Law Firm, Eric worked at Redstone Law Firm in Sioux Falls where his practice areas included business transactions and organizations, estate planning, and government relations. He also lobbied the legislature for a variety of public and private entities.
Eric lives in Sioux Falls with his wife Alissa and son Thomas. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, following his favorite teams, reading historical books, and attending Coyote athletic events with his family. Eric joined Cutler Law Firm as an associate in 2017 and became Partner with the Firm in 2023.
