PERSONAL ATTENTION.
PROMPT LEGAL SOLUTIONS.

The end of summer brings shorter days, cooler nights and the end of our favorite time of the year – intern season.

Cutler Law Firm had the honor of working with two summer interns this year – Kate Katterhagen and Rob Bolger. Cutler Law Firm’s summer interns work on a variety of projects with both the business and litigation teams that include drafting contracts, pleadings and memos, and researching various issues for attorneys throughout the firm. They were also able to shadow attorneys in the courtroom and at depositions on various matters throughout the summer.

Kate hails from Yankton, South Dakota. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Dakota, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors program recognition. Kate currently attends the University of South Dakota Knudson School of Law. She serves as the South Dakota Law Review Volume 68 Copy Editor and as a research assistant. Kate is a proud member of USD Knudson School of Law Women in Philanthropy, as well as many other organizations. She is grateful for the education, guidance, and mentorship provided by many exemplary college professors and outstanding legal professionals. Her leisure interests include reading, volunteering, and spending time with family and friends.

Rob is a native of Watertown, SD.  After graduating from Augustana University with a B.A. in Business Communications, Rob spent time in retail management and then spent several years as a financial advisor earning his FSCP® (Financial Services Certified Professional) designation from the American College of Financial Services.  Rob is beginning his third year at Creighton University School of Law, where he will receive his J.D. in 2023 with a concentration in litigation. Rob has earned a spot on the National Trial Competition team and was elected to the Moot Court Board.  Outside of his legal education, Rob enjoys spending time with his wife Ali and their two children, Sully and Collyns.  When they are not at one of the children’s sporting activities, his family enjoys traveling and spending time at the lake.

Cutler Law Firm believes that summer legal internships provide valuable opportunities for law students to experience private practice. Our internship is structured to provide our interns with broad exposure to legal issues and problems that extend past research and writing, alone. We believe that an impactful internship includes client meetings and an exposure to dealing with the daily issues that arise in private practice.

Best of luck to you, Kate and Rob, as you start your third year of law school. Thanks again for a fun summer.
